The Dallas Central Appraisal District appraises property in Dallas County to determine property values. This value is used by taxing entities, including Addison, in calculating your property taxes. When Addison opened their own post office with a 75001 zip code, the residents in the southeast section of the Town voted to retain the Dallas 75240 zip code, which later was changed by the post office to the 75254 zip code.
