The Public Works and Engineering Department manages the city's trash and recycling services, water, sewer, and stormwater systems as well as public streets, signs, signals and street markings.
Addison staff will conduct a home pickup for bulk items and brush. We do not collect propane tanks or white goods (refrigerators, microwaves, ovens) that have not had refrigerants removed from the appliance. Please allow a minimum of 48 business hours for staff to collect; emergencies and special job operations may delay field crew response time.
Our mission is to provide continuous delivery of a potable and palatable water supply with adequate volume and pressure to all residential, commercial, industrial and public water consumers. We maintain the quality of wastewater for public health enjoyment, protecting wildlife, operating industries and for economic development.
The Engineering Department provides planning, engineering, and maintenance services for Addison's infrastructure including streets, traffic signals, drainage, water, and wastewater. We oversee implementation of capital improvements and provide a thorough engineering review of all new development and inspection services for construction projects. We strive to integrate community concern into each project.
The Streets and Traffic Services division provides for the maintenance of the Town’s streets, sidewalks, traffic signal system, and the Town-owned street lights. This division also provides brush and bulky waste pickup and manages the Town’s third party trash hauler, CWD. Our goal is to provide a safe and reliable transportation system for our residents, businesses, and visitors.
Storm drains do not connect to sanitary sewer systems and treatment facilities. Which means improperly disposed of oil, grass clippings, plastic bottles, and other hazardous and unsightly materials are released directly into our streams and rivers.
